On-site, Futura Laboratories Studio Residency, 2021 – 2022.

Six-month period at Futura Laboratories Studio, New York, centred on character and sculpture development, support with studio spatial installation, the onboarding of new studio assistants, and ongoing historical research. Facilitated by the artist Futura and MUTANT GENESIS, and connected to ongoing research activity, this period adds to Dexta Mega’s studio process, object development, spatial thinking, and research within a longer-standing professional and cultural relationship.

Self-Portrait as a TriniBad Artist, 2019. Archival self-portrait from a return to Trinidad and Tobago between 2018 and 2020, undertaken as both personal recalibration and ongoing subcultural research. The image belongs to a period of close observation of the movement later known as “TriniBad”, approached through direct proximity, informal listening networks, and lived alignment with local circles.
